A woman has been sentenced to six months in prison for stalking the renowned Bi Rain & Kim Tae Hee.

In a recent development in South Korea, a woman has been sentenced to six months in prison for stalking the renowned celebrity couple Bi Rain and Kim Tae Hee. The Western District Court of Seoul announced the verdict on January 10, finding the 49-year-old woman, identified only as Ms. A, guilty of violating the country’s anti-stalking laws.

According to the court’s findings, Ms. A, who suffers from mental health issues, is believed to have committed these acts while experiencing mental and physical distress. Besides the prison term, she is also required to complete a 40-hour treatment program to prevent recurrence of such behavior.

The prosecution’s case detailed how Ms. A repeatedly visited Bi Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s residence in Yongsan District 14 times over eight months, from March to October 2022. She persistently rang their doorbell, causing distress to the family. Despite warnings, she continued to monitor their home in February and April 2023 and even visited the couple’s beauty salon.

Bi Rain and Kim Tae Hee, who first met during a commercial shoot in 2011, have been a beloved couple in the South Korean entertainment industry. They kept their relationship private, confirming it only in early 2013, and eventually got married in 2017, delighting their fans.

The couple has two daughters, whose identities they have chosen to keep private. Post-marriage, Kim Tae Hee has scaled back her entertainment activities, focusing more on family life. Bi Rain, on the other hand, has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, achieving success in music and acting. He gained widespread fame in Asia with the 2003 drama “Full House” and has been recognized twice by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world (in 2006 and 2011).

Kim Tae Hee, renowned for her beauty and acting talent, has left a significant mark in the industry with works like “Stairway to Heaven”, “Love Story in Harvard”, “Hi Bye Mama”, and “Iris”. As reported by Allkpop, she is set to make a cameo appearance in the ongoing TV drama “Welcome to Samdalri”.

The case of Ms. A highlights the ongoing concerns regarding celebrity safety and privacy, drawing attention to the need for stricter measures and support for those struggling with mental health issues.
