BTS
Recently, KBS announced that some songs in the upcoming album – “Proof” by BTS had not passed the censorship of this station.
Specifically, “Run BTS” and “Born Singer” are not eligible for broadcast because of their vulgar lyrics. The song “For Youth” was under review because there were no lyrics in the concert sound effects in the first 30 seconds.
Meanwhile, only the song “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” is eligible for broadcast. Here is the rare time that BTS has two songs banned from broadcasting.
TWICE
Before BTS, last November, KBS also announced that it would not broadcast the song “ICON” – the song taken from the album “Formula of Love: O+T=<3” by TWICE. The reason given was that “ICON” had vulgar lyrics.
Meanwhile, the remaining 16 songs on the album have passed KBS’s censorship round.
BlackPink
“Boombayah” and “Kill This Love” are two BlackPink songs banned from broadcasting by KBS.
With “Boombayah,” the reason was given because the lyrics have sensitive words, and in the lyrics of member Jennie, there is mention of stimulants.
Meanwhile, with “Kill This Love,” the MV has a scene classified as not complying with the Korean Road Traffic Law. Specifically, there is a scene where Rosé does not wear a seat belt while driving.
