On the morning of July 3, Blackpink’s music video (MV) for the song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” surpassed 1.9 billion views on YouTube. Making it the first music video by a K-pop group to achieve this feat.
The only other K-pop music video that has surpassed 1.9 billion views on YouTube is PSY’s legendary 2012 hit Gangnam Style.
Blackpink originally released DDU-DU DDU-DU on June 15, 2018, meaning that this MV took just over 4 years, 17 days, and 10 hours to achieve the milestone above.
In addition, Blackpink also owns the K-pop MV with the third most views in YouTube history, “Kill This Love” (1.6 billion views).
