Snowdrop was a historical drama set in 1987. Written by Yoo Hyun Mi and directed by Jo Hyun Tak, Snowdrop tells the story of the June 1987 democracy movement.
At that time, the South Korean government did not want to hold a fair general election. This mass process movement urged the South Korean government to hold democratic elections in December 1987. Not only that, this event also led to the end of the fifth reign of the authoritarian Republic of Korea and the formation of a democratic government.
Snowdrop presents a tense picture of the situation between November and December 1987. Quoting Mydramalist, this drama tells the story of Lim Soo Ho (Jung Hae In), a graduate student who turns out to be a spy from North Korea. Lim Soo Ho was found covered in blood by Eun Yeong Ro (Jisoo BLACKPINK). Eun Yeong Ro is a student who hides Lim Soo Ho from the police in the girls’ dormitory room. Their meeting grew the seeds of romance between the two.
