On the 11th of this month, BTS’s RM and V embarked on their military service journey as they entered the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam. After undergoing basic military training, both artists will serve as active-duty soldiers in the army.
V, in particular, has applied for a special mission unit within the Army Capital Defense Command. Big Hit Music, their agency, communicated via the fan platform Weverse on the 5th, notifying fans that there would be no official events on the enlistment day and urging them not to visit the site to ensure safety.
The expected discharge date for RM and V is set for June 10, 2025.

Prior to their enlistment, RM and V personally shared their thoughts with fans. RM expressed mixed emotions, saying, “The day has finally come. I had a lot of thoughts swirling in my head, but now that it’s here, I find it hard to speak.” He acknowledged the support of fellow members Jin and J-hope, emphasizing the belief that the 18 months of service will bring new inspiration and learning for all.
V, who shared a photo of his freshly shaved head with the caption “D-1,” fulfilled a personal fantasy with the shaved head and sunglasses look. He celebrated the occasion with a cake bearing the message ‘I’ll wait.’
Looking ahead, Jimin and Jungkook are set to enlist on the 12th, marking the initiation of military service for all seven BTS members.
