IU is busy with her latest film, titled Broker.
The film, directed by Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda, premiered in South Korea on June 8.
The film tells the story of the unexpected journey of those with a relationship around the baby box.
A box is where babies have been left anonymously because their parents cannot care for them.
IU herself plays So Young, the mother of one child who places her baby in the box.
The Bluming singer competes in acting with a row of well-known actors such as Song Kang Ho, Bae Doona, Kang Dong-won, and Lee Joo Young.

The broker also managed to enter the Cannes 2022 festival, where IU and friends had the opportunity to attend the most prestigious film festival in the world on May 26 and received full appreciation.
Even one of the players, veteran actor Song Kang Ho, brought home the Best Actor award at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
Before the premiere of the K-Movie, IU invited her co-stars in the film Broker, namely Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, and Lee Joo Young, as guests for her YouTube content, “Palette,” on June 7.
On that occasion, IU made the 2022 Cannes Film Festival Best Actor; Song Kang Ho burst into tears when he talked about his acting journey.
Initially, the cast was surprised when they saw how bright and energetic IU was as the program host.
You see, IU is relatively quiet and doesn’t talk much while shooting a movie.

IU then explained that she was too nervous because it was her first film project.
The 30-year-old actress added that she regrets not having spoken more with her earlier.
In a segment on YouTube, the Broker stars were then asked to give each other compliments they had never heard before from anyone else.
Lee Joo Young and IU chose each other, while Kang Dong Won and Song Kang Ho suddenly got their names.
The Lilac singer then suggested to his colleagues to be able to praise themselves.
Actor Song Kang Ho was embarrassed at first but eventually had the courage and confidence to praise themselves.
When it was his turn, Song Kang Ho felt emotional when he looked back on his 27-year acting journey and involuntarily shed tears of emotion.
“Acting is a lonely profession. (always) There is pressure to be busy and do well instead of being flashy.”
“Time passes, the public praises and evaluates only by looking at the outermost part of the actor’s achievements and results,” said the 55-year-old actor quoted from Kdramastar Saturday, June 11, 2022.
Song Kang Ho added, “The reason why I was able to endure all that for 27 years…” and suddenly paused before tears started to flow in his eyes.
Meanwhile, IU, Kang Dong Won, and Lee Joo Young were stunned to see the veteran actor expressing himself and couldn’t help but cry.
The Parasite star tearfully conveyed his message but tried to contain his emotions by smiling awkwardly during the segment.

“I’ve never received a compliment before. But today, I think I can praise myself for sticking around and going this far.”
“I think I can finally cheer myself up because I’ve been through difficult times in my career so far,” said Song Kang Ho.
IU then expressed gratitude to the actor for sharing such a deep and touching story.
Song Kang Ho said he was embarrassed because it was a spontaneous reveal and wasn’t in the script, but he liked it.
For him, it was the only occasion where he could talk about the story of his journey like that.
Meanwhile, the brokerage film starring IU is confirmed to be shown in Indonesian cinemas this June, as announced by the film distributor CBI Pictures.
BROKER starts June 16 in theaters. Award-winning films at Cannes include Best Actor – Song Kang-ho.
“A touching story by director Shoplifters (Kore-Eda Hirokazu),” wrote CBI Pictures, as reported by their official Twitter.
