South Korea’s prominent economic and entertainment magazine, JoyNews24, has conducted its annual survey, highlighting the luminaries in television dramas, variety shows, film industry, actors, and singers who shined in the year.
The “2023 Power People in Entertainment” list has garnered significant attention. The survey involved 200 industry experts in South Korea, including representatives from entertainment companies, broadcast networks, film and TV content producers, and entertainment journalists. The aim was to identify the most influential figures across various domains – from singers, entertainers, and actors to producers who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
Despite not officially returning this year, Blackpink has maintained a crucial position in this list for the second consecutive year, continuously contributing significantly to the K-pop scene since their debut. Blackpink ranked seventh in the list with a total of nine votes.

Jennie, as a solo artist, has been recognized for her contributions to the industry, holding the position of “Highest Ranked K-pop Solo Artist in the List.” Specifically, Jennie is placed fourth with ten votes, making her the top-ranked solo K-pop artist.
Making history, Jennie became the only solo artist of this decade to appear in the “Power People in Entertainment” list in two different years (2021 and 2023), as voted by the magazine.
Meanwhile, at the top position is the globally famous boy band BTS. Despite many members currently fulfilling their military duties, their popularity remains undiminished.
BTS’s V, in particular, tied with other celebrities at the seventeenth spot, receiving one vote.
The remaining positions in the list are occupied by entertainment company chairpersons, solo singers, TV and film actors, and others, marking a diverse and influential set of personalities shaping the entertainment industry in 2023.
