However, not many know that Park Shin Hye has done one noble thing in early March 2022.
Launching Soompi, Park Shin Hye is reported to have donated some of her wealth to victims of forest fires in South Korea. According to reports, on Friday (4/3/2022), a large forest fire broke out on a mountain near the seaside city of Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province.
The fire spread to the city of Samcheok in Gangwon Province and continues to spread to other east coast cities such as Donghae and Gangneung.
Some celebrities who have given reasons include BTS’ Suga, Shin Min Ah, Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Hye Soo, IU, Kim Go Eun, Lee Byung Hun, Song Kang Ho, and many more.
On March 9, 2022, the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association reported that Park Shin Hye had donated 50 million won to support and recover forest fire victims. Park Shin Hye has previously donated to disaster relief in the 2019 Gangwon Province forest fires and 2020 local floods.
Apart from Park Shin Hye, several other celebrities also intervened to assist.
On March 10, 2022, the Korean Red Cross announced that trot singer Young Tak had donated 100 million won two days earlier to support the environment affected by forest fires in Gangwon and North Gyeongsang Province.
Young Tak has a history of working with the Red Cross, volunteering to donate blood in December during the spike in COVID-19 cases. Also, on March 10, the Bridge of Hope Association announced that Jun Ji Hyun had donated 100 million won to the victims of the forest fires.
He had previously donated in 2020 to help people recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Not to be outdone, Bae Suzy also donated 100 million won to the victims of the forest fires and joined the Hope Bridge Association Honorary Club, signifying her commitment to continuous donations.
He previously made donations to help victims of the 2019 forest fires and the 2020 floods. Earlier this week, the Bridge of Hope Association confirmed that SM Entertainment and its founder Lee Soo Man had donated 500 million won to the victims of the forest fires. YG Entertainment also donated 500 million won to the Hope Bridge Association.
JYP Entertainment donated 300 million won to the non-governmental organization (NGO) World Vision International.
The 100 million won donation will purchase the necessary equipment, furniture and living supplies for the victims. Meanwhile, 150 million will be used to rebuild the burned environment, and the remaining 50 million will be used for the psychological treatment of children in the affected areas. Actress Chae Jung Ahn donated 30 million won to the Hope Bridge Association.
Meanwhile, actor Lee Dong Wook donated 50 million won to the same charity.
