The screenwriter of “The Glory,” Kim Eun Sook, discussed the win during her appearance as a guest on KBS radio program “Song Jin-woo’s Brave Radio” on Tuesday (August 15). Kim Eun Sook recalled the moment when Hye Kyo mentioned her name in her acceptance speech.
Eun Sook recounted, “Hye Kyo sent me a text message saying, ‘I received this award because of unnie (older sister),’ and I responded by writing, ‘You are my muse, Song Hye Kyo.’ This response from the writer quickly garnered attention in the Korean media.
Numerous Korean media outlets highlighted the phrase, “You are my muse, Song Hye Kyo,” as their headline. They deemed it to be the highest praise an actress could receive from a drama scriptwriter of Kim Eun Sook’s caliber. This expression of mutual admiration has stirred significant interest within the entertainment industry.
Following the success of “The Glory,” Hye Kyo has not yet taken on a new acting project. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that she is currently considering multiple acting offers and is carefully selecting the one that suits her best.
On a different note, Kim Eun Sook also addressed the quirky nature of some of her dialogues. She commented, “That’s a tone I often use. Actors sometimes find it amusing, but I hope it pays off.”
The accomplished writer also let slip that she is currently working on a new drama that will feature numerous scenes set abroad. Previously, it was reported that Kim Eun Sook was crafting a new drama titled “All Your Wishes Will Come True” (title subject to change).
The casting of actors for “All Your Wishes Will Come True” has been revealed. Suzy and Kim Woo Bin are expected to reunite after their collaboration in “Uncontrollably Fond.” However, both stars are still in the consideration stage.
“All Your Wishes Come True” is a fantasy rom-com centered around an emotional genie trapped within a lamp and a woman who helps him escape his imprisonment. Kim Woo Bin has been offered the role of the genie, while Suzy is set to portray Ga Young, a human devoid of emotions.
