In a remarkable survey involving 200 experts from the film industry, the top television actors of South Korea for the year 2023 have been decided. The top 10 list features familiar faces that are well-known across Asia.

The most anticipated title of the year, the best actress, has been awarded to Song Hye Kyo. Taking on a psychologically challenging role for the first time as Moon Dong Eun in “The Glory,” Song Hye Kyo has displayed her versatility and flexibility in acting. Her performance breaks away from the monotonous roles she was previously criticized for, proving her critics wrong.

For her role as Moon Dong Eun, Song Hye Kyo was awarded the Best Actress in a Television Series at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023. Following her closely, Lim Ji Yeon, the antagonist in “The Glory,” ranked third in the survey. “The Glory” is seen as a career pinnacle for Lim Ji Yeon, receiving high praise from the audience and critics alike.

The list continues with Uhm Jung Hwa, Ryu Seung Yong, and Yeom Hye Ran – Kim Tae Ri – Nam Goong Min, sharing the sixth position. In a surprising tie, Lee Junho and Jo In Sung both occupied the tenth spot. Lee Junho, initially a member of the famous boy band 2PM, has successfully transitioned into acting. His performances have been highly acclaimed, earning him praise from both audiences and professionals. Notably, he was the first Kpop idol to win the title of Best Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2022.
