In a press conference at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) 2024, renowned actress Son Ye Jin opened up about her life after more than two years of marriage and motherhood.
Before getting married and having a child, Son Ye Jin’s life was entirely focused on her career. She was deeply committed to her work, viewing it as her everything. Reflecting on this period, she said, “Marriage and having a child introduced me to a completely different world.
After nearly two years of raising my child, I’ve realized that true happiness lies in appreciating the small daily moments. Work used to consume my life; I fought tirelessly for it and couldn’t separate myself from it.”

Son Ye Jin further expressed, “Now, I find immense joy in the simplest things, like watching my son finish his meals happily every day. I feel I’ve accomplished something significant when a day ends without any mishaps.
This simplicity brings me happiness. My perspective on life has shifted considerably. Although taking care of my child is demanding, it brings me happiness from a different world. I’m living a very happy life.”
Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin tied the knot in March 2022. A few months later, Son Ye Jin announced her pregnancy to her fans. By the end of 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, a son. In November 2023, they celebrated their son’s first birthday with a special party.
