Song Hye Kyo Continues to Shine in Love and Career with a Stream of Good News.

In the realm of both love and career, Song Hye Kyo has been basking in a continuous stream of good news. The year 2023 marked her triumphant return to the spotlight, with undeniable evidence found in her leading role in the hit series “The Glory,” which consistently garnered positive acclaim from the beginning to the end of the year. Recently, as the series celebrated its one-year anniversary since its premiere, the iconic line “Bravo, Park Yeon Jin!” once again stirred up social media forums, reminiscent of its viral status within the show.

“The Glory” stood as Netflix Korea’s most fervently promoted series in late 2022. With Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun leading the cast, alongside a stellar ensemble of actors, bolstered by an exceptionally talented production team including screenwriter Kim Eun Sook and director Ahn Gil Ho, “The Glory” bore the weight of immense expectations from its audience.

True to expectations, at the Baeksang Arts Awards held in March 2023, “The Glory” clinched the Outstanding Television Series award, while Song Hye Kyo received the prestigious Daesang for Best Actress. The Supporting Actress award went to Lim Ji Yeon. The accolades didn’t stop there; at the Blue Dragon Series Awards in July, Song Hye Kyo secured another major win, while Lim Ji Yeon was honored with the Outstanding Supporting Actress award.

In a Gallup Korea survey conducted in March, “The Glory” claimed the top spot as the most beloved television series with a favorability rating of 14.8%. Over the past decade, only 10 television series have surpassed a 10% favorability rating. By year-end, in various Korean film polls, “The Glory” and Song Hye Kyo were indispensable names on the list.

In early December 2023, Gallup Korea conducted a survey on the Most Talented Actors of 2023. Song Hye Kyo secured the third position with 6.3%, following Nam Goong Min (20.2%) and Park Eun Bin (6.4%) in second place. According to Netflix’s announcement, “The Glory” accumulated a total of 622.8 million hours of viewing within the first six months of the year, ranking third. Thus, “The Glory” led the charts as the most-watched non-English language series on Netflix.

Song Hye Kyo’s journey in 2023 exemplifies not just a career resurgence but also a testament to enduring popularity and talent, solidifying her status as one of Korea’s most revered actresses.
