Son Ye Jin Honored as “Actress of the Year” at 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

According to Allkpop, Son Ye Jin has been named “Actress of the Year” at the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), scheduled to take place from July 4 to July 14 in Bucheon, South Korea. This announcement was made by BIFAN Executive Chairman Shin Chul.

At BIFAN 2024, Son Ye Jin will be the focal point of a special exhibition titled “Son Ye Jin Special,” celebrating her 23-year acting career. The exhibition will feature a variety of events, including book publications, a “Mega Talk” session, and a photo exhibition. Additionally, the lead actress from “Crash Landing on You” will grace the red carpet at BIFAN’s opening ceremony.

Mo Eun Young, a member of BIFAN, praised Son Ye Jin, describing her as “the representative actress of the 21st century with a unique charm in both film and television.” Mo Eun Young expressed confidence that the special exhibition will offer deeper insights into Son Ye Jin’s versatile acting skills.

Son Ye Jin expressed her gratitude for being chosen as the special exhibition figure for 2024, feeling honored to follow in the footsteps of her predecessors at BIFAN. She stated that this recognition is a precious moment in her acting career.

Son Ye Jin has received acclaim from critics for her performances in films such as “Lover’s Concerto,” “The Classic,” “A Moment to Remember,” “The Art of Seduction,” “My Wife Got Married,” “Spellbound,” “The Pirates,” “The Truth Beneath,” and “The Last Princess.”

The actress boasts an impressive collection of over 50 awards, including a commendation from the Prime Minister at the 9th Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards. She has won three Grand Bell Awards, six Baeksang Arts Awards, five Blue Dragon Film Awards, and two Korean Association of Film Critics Awards.

Internationally, she received the “Best Leading Actress” award at the 51st Asia-Pacific Film Festival for “April Snow” and won accolades at the 15th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival for “A Moment to Remember,” solidifying her status as the “nation’s first love.”
