Hellbound is a television project invested and produced by Netflix, adapted from the webcomic Jiok by two authors Yeon Sang Ho (writer) and Choi Kyu Seok (artist).
The work was born in the context that Netflix in particular and Korean television in general are doing well with many horror and supernatural TV series adapted from webtoons such as Strangers From Hell (2019), Sweet Home (2020) or The Uncanny Counter (2021).
On August 16, Chosun Biz reported that Hellbound had been invited to the 46th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to be held from September 8 here. This is the first Korean drama to receive this honor.
Hellbound will be shown on TIFF’s Primetime program. Primetime focuses on finding works that blend the television genre with the storytelling of movies, possessing impressive plots and monumental images.

Hellbound story in more complex with the emergence of Song So-hyun (Won Jin A), wife of Bae Jae – a victim unable to overcome the trauma caused by social chaos. The last character in the polygon is Jin Kyung Hoon (Yang Ik June), a detective who is investigating the appearance of angels of death.
